EDITH L. (PETERS) DUCKWILER THOMPSON

Edith Thompson

Edith L. Duckwiler Thompson, 64, of Astoria, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born June 10, 1935, in Canton, a daughter of Raymond and Grace Cleer Peters. She married Albert Duckwiler on May 22, 1954, in Havana. He died March 23, 1980.

She later married Carol Thompson. He also preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by one grandson, two sisters and one half-brother.

Surviving are five sons, Danny Duckwiler and Michael Duckwiler, both of Astoria, Raymond Duckwiler of Havana, Steve Duckwiler of Ipava and Albert Duckwiler of Charleston; four daughters, Lucinda Vaughn of Astoria, Sarah Allen and Sheila White, both of Havana, and Brenda Thompson of Colchester; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond Peters of Astoria, James Peters and LeRoy Peters, both of Havana, and Donald Peters of Lewistown; and two sisters, Viola Scalfe of Washington and Irene Lowder of Canton.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church in Summum.

Serviceds will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad or the American Diabetes Foundation.
