LORRAINE (BELSHAW) TATHAM

Lorraine Tatham

Lorraine Tatham, 80, of Houston, Texas, a former Macomb and Colchester resident, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at the Memorial Southwest Hospital, Houston.

She was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Macomb, a daughter of Cecil and Lela Parnell Belshaw. She married Glen Hunter Tatham on July 17, 1937, in Wapello, Iowa. He died Aug. 12, 1986. Also preceding her in death were one daughter and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Thomas P. Tatham of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Teresa Wycoff of Valencia, Calif.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George (Betty) Pearce of Macomb; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vernon (Esmarelda) Thomson of Table Grove and Mrs. I.J. (Connie) Schiff of Los Angeles, Calif.

She worked for many years as a nurse, medical assistant and bookkeeper for Drs. Williams, Freedle and Ellingson, orthopedic surgeons in Upland, Calif. Her hobbies were bridge, thoroughbred horse racing and rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers. She and her husband were very active in the thoroughbred racing scene in Southern California during the mid-1980s.

Cremation rites haved been accorded. Memorial services were held Sunday at the Table Grove Community Church with Rev. Tim Ashley officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
