DALE A. TOVREA

Dale A. Tovrea, 73, of Canton, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, at Graham Hospital.

He was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Duluth, Minn., a son of Charles A. and Jane H. Dale Tovrea. He married Beverly J. Conrad on Oct. 5, 1951, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Gerald Dale Tovrea of Canton, Rick Tovrea of Marseilles, Kerry John Tovrea of Somonauk, Terry James Tovrea of Serena and Michael Thomas Tovrea of Vermont; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Charles Tovrea of Greenville, S.C., and John Tovrea; and five sisters, Zelma Wilcox of Staunton, Maxine Fatheree of Farmington, Mildred Dixon of Hillsboro, and Beverly Huggins and Charleen Gilpin, both of Canton.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

He was a self-employed painter and decorator. Prior to that he was a coal miner. He was a World War II Army veteran and of the Christian faith.

Funeral services were held Friday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
