BEULAH M. (NIEDERER) TOWERY

Beulah Towery

Beulah M. Towery, 68, of Havana died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Peoria, a daughter of Adolph and Edna Hickman Niederer. She married John W. Towery on Sept. 3, 1947, in Havana. He died April 15, 1972.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Beckie) Comstock of Havana and Brenda Towery of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Paul of Columbus and Don of East Peoria; one brother, Don Niederer of Clinton; one sister, Betty Wingerter of Astoria; and eight grandchildren.

She operated Little America Cafe and the Duck Inn for several years. She was secretary of the Havana Ladies Bowling League from 1988 to 1993 and was secretary of Havana Men’s Bowling League for four years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana.

Funeral services were held Friday at Hurley Funeral Home. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
