Edward Thompson Of Springfield Dies

Edward Jones Thompson, 65 of 225 Saxon Drive, Springfield, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday, June 25, 1990, at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Astoria, the son of Benjamin M. and Bertha Jones Thompson. He married Audrey Jacoby in 1955 in Divernon. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rodney of Girard and Thomas of Springfield; and two grandsons.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Before his retirement, he was a stock farmer near Pawnee.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Philip Kaufmann officiating. Burial was in Stout Cemetery near Springfield.

Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thompson’s parents will be remembered as owner/operators of Thompson’s Bakery in Astoria for several years.
