Hazel Taylor Dies At Age 75

Hazel B. Taylor, 75, of Bartonville, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 1990, at Proctor Community Hospital in Peoria.

She was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Ipava, the daughter of William and Blanche (Curless) Beatty. She married James P. Smith in 1929, in Ipava. He died in 1971 in Peoria. She later married Raleigh Taylor in July 1975 in Bartonville. He died on April 15, 1977, in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Survivors include three sons, Robert L. Smith of Wainwright, Okla., Willis D. Smith of Bellevue, Wash., and Marvin Taylor of Pekin; two daughters, Mrs. Maynard (Ruth E.) Joyner of East Peoria and Mrs. Edward (Freida) Thompson of El Cajon, Calif.; one brother, Gail Beatty of Canton; one sister, Mrs. Dallas (Geneva) Beatty of Peoria; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. Bobby Barnhill officiating. Burial was at Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the MacArthur Baptist Church in Pekin.
