Girlie A. Turner Dies At Age 82

Mrs. Girlie A. Turner, 82, of Rushville, formerly of Carthage, Miss., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 1986, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 2, 1903, in Savannah, Ga., a daughter of Thomas and Melissa Hicks Sosebee. She married Clyde A. Turner Oct. 25, 1919, in Leake County, Miss. He died March 22, 1968.

Surviving are six sons, William of Jenize, N. Mex., Major and Lavon of Carthage, Miss., Clyde R. of Springfield, Mo., and Colon of Paris, Ark.; four daughters, Gladys Pearl Schnell of Clay City, Ill., Jo Ann McMillan of Rushville, Fran Morgan of Canton, Miss. and Faye Raffield of Walnut Grove, Miss.; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dossie Slade of Hattisburg, Miss.

Her parents, and a daughter, Bonnie Muck, died earlier.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Rushville Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be this afternoon at the Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage, Miss., with burial in the Singleton Cemetery in Leake County, Miss. Worthington Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
