Astoria Man, 77, Dies In His Home

Napoleon B. Taylor, 77, of Astoria died Sunday evening in his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Taylor was born June 24, 1894, in Ollie, La. He married Dora L. Miller in 1945, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Thames of Lidalia, La.; and five stepchildren, John Jones and Mrs. Zelda Anderson of Astoria, Mrs. Vernie Heitz of Vermont, Mrs. Minnie Phillips of Beardstown, and Mrs. Bertha Harris of Joliet.

Also surviving is one brother, Ervin Taylor of Pioneer, La., along with three grandchildren, 32 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. this morning at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Arnold Naff officiating. Burial was in the Bauer Cemetery near Littleton.
