Aged Woman Dies Following Paralytic Stroke

Mrs. Susie Thomas, an aged lady, died at about midnight Saturday at her home in the northeast part of town. She suffered a paralytic stroke a week previous to her death.

Mrs. Thomas was born Sept. 3rd, 1870 at Bader, a daughter of John and Barbara Ebbert Haare. She was aged 76 years, 10 months and 26 days.

She married William Thomas who preceded her in death in 1939. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Zeta Neiffer of Collegeville, Pa.

She was converted and became a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Brethren church when a young girl, later moving her membership to the Astoria U. B. church, where she was a faithful member to the end. Of late years she was not active in church work but she continued in the faith.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the E. U. B. church, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson, assisted by the pastor, Dr. C. W. Perkins. Burial in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
