Owen Toland

BROWNING — Owen W. Toland, son of Wm. F. and Ellen Markell Toland was born in Kasciusko Co., Ind., March 3, 1866 and died at his home in Cloverdale, July 27, 1930 aged 64 years, 4 months and 24 days. He was united in marriage to Letitia Ann Keeran, Feb. 18, 1891. To this union were born four children, Mrs. John H. Trone of Browning, William of Peoria, Chester and Mary dying in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two children, two granddaughters, two sisters, Mrs. Frances Carroll [film scratched] and Mrs. George Landry of Beardstown, two brothers, Harry of Rushville and Homer of Centerville, La. He was a kind and considerate husband, father and neighbor, always mindful of their welfare and was universally loved where known. He was a member of the M. E. church of Ray and a highly esteemed member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Browning. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter in Browning, July 30, conducted by Rev. J. C. Dail. Burial in the Browning cemetery where the Odd Fellows had charge with their beautiful and touching ceremony.

Keeran and Ed Keeran of Industry, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Markell, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Plank, Mrs. Robert Viall, Astoria, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stephens, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stephens, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stephens, Mrs. Annie Keeran and son, Mr. and Mrs. John Boyles, Mrs. Haney, Chester Chapman and Harry Toland of Rushville, Mr. and Mrs. James Day and Mrs. Laura Smith of Ray.
