Corneals Tillman, son of William and Ellen Tillman, was born September 26, 1885, and died June 17, 1900. He leaves a father and mother, three sisters and two brothers to mourn his loss. He was converted and joined the Union Baptist church in 1898.
Our Corneals has gone to live with Jesus;
He has crossed cold Jordon’s wave.
He has landed in the city,
Though his body’s in the grave.
And we think we see the landing
That he made on Canaan’s shore,
As he met our darling loved ones
Who have crossed o’er, years before—
As the silvery bells of Heaven,
Rang a welcome to his soul:
As he stepped from out the life-boat,
On the pearly streets of gold.
