Chris(sy) Sayers, 67, died in her family’s farmhouse surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Sept. 22, 1958, a daughter of Robert Burgett and Donna Herring. She married David Sayers on Jan. 9, 1982. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons and their wives, James (and Lise), Greg and David (and Melissa); one daughter, Amanda; four sisters, Amy, Paula, Robin and Becky; one brother, Bobby; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
She graduated from Spoon River College, School of Nursing, as a Licensed Practical Nurse in July of 1992. She then began her career of nursing at Meyers and Heritage where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing, dedicating herself to taking care of the elderly. Following retirement, she helped cook for the patrons at the Browning Senior Center. There, she volunteered her time for the well-being of the community.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Brother Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will follow at the Ridgeville Cemetery in Browning. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
