He was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Astoria, a son of Myron W. and Ruth E. Bartlett Shaw. He married Lillie A. Tripp on Dec. 15, 1967, in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Patrick (and Becky) Shaw of Springfield, and Kevin (and Elizabeth) Shaw and Carrie (and Aaron) Jones, both of Pekin; one brother, Steve (and Kelly) Shaw; one sister, Judy Gain; and five grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Astoria High School and Bradley University. He was employed at Pekin Insurance where in 1972 he earned his CPCU designation. When he retired after 37 years, he was subrogation supervisor.
He was also a Boy Scout leader for many years with Troop 181.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin with Pastor Judy Doyle officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow the service at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
