Robert SewardRobert Leon “Bob” Seward, 93, of Havana died at 2:58 a.m. Nov. 6, 2021.

He was born March 13, 1928, in Ipava, a son of Frank and Rose Irene Wilson Seward. He married Rose Marie Lane in the fall of 1958. She preceded him in death. He then married Eleanor Schapinsky. She preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were Elmer Seward, Rose Noe, and Broch Nall.

He and Rose Marie raised three daughters, Gay Kong of Honolulu, Hawaii, Glee Osing of Havana and Gwen Neal of Effingham; and have six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He grew up and went to school in Ipava. He served in the Army for three years with an honorable discharge. After returning from the Army, he obtained employment at International Harvester where he retired after 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a part-time custodian at Havana Church of Christ.

He was a long-time standing member of Havana Church of Christ for over 63 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of Christ in Havana with Pastor Bill Boyce officiating. Burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to Havana Church of Christ.
