Ronald SmithRonald Lee Smith, 71, of Rushville died at 2 p.m. Dec. 2, 2020, at his residence.

He was born April 18, 1949, in Beardstown, a son of Floyd S. and Edna Louise Pieper Smith.

Surviving are his mother; one brother, Floyd Jr. Smith; two sisters, Mary F. (and Roger) Quigle of Colchester and Cheryl Smith of Rushville; one nephew; and five nieces.

He graduated from Rushville High School and served in the Army where he was a paratrooper. He was a truck driver until retirement.

He was a member of the Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and the Macomb Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3698.

A graveside service was held Sunday at Rushville City Cemetery with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating and military honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Army Honor Detail. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
