Sarah Lee Davis Swartwout, 97, of Lincolnton, N.C., died Sept. 26, 2019.
She was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Hamburg, Ala., the daughter of John Holmes and Charlotte Parks Lee. She first married Donald Davis of Rushville on Sept. 2, 1943, in Marion, Ala. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1997. She later married Lewis Swartwout in 2003. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2017.
Surviving are two sons, Don Davis of Clarkston, Mich., and Lee Davis of Miami, Fla.; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Hair of Lincolnton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Judson College and worked as a physical education teacher and later librarian for the Illinois School System.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Rushville City Cemetery. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
