Harold Sizek

Harold George Sizek, 80, of Ewing, Mo., died at 1:37 p.m. Dec. 10, 2019, in Sunset Nursing Home in Quincy. He formerly lived in Ipava, Astoria and Macomb.

He was born Aug. 27, 1939, in rural Fulton County, a son of George M. and Myrtle E. Griener Sizek. He married June Reid on Feb. 15, 1998, in Industry. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Howard (and Jacquie) Sizek of Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Gloria (and the late Bill) Stephenson of Colchester; eight siblings, David (and Catherine) Sizek and Martha (and Stephen) Mitchell, all of Norris, Steven Sizek and Linda Mitchell, both of Canton, Glen Sizek of St. David, Rose Bloyd of Lewistown, Katherine Bolen of Canton and Nancy Parrish of Havana; one stepson, Michael (and Tina) Eiffert of Palmyra, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Chris (and Cory) Sergerson of Washington, Iowa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and two half-sisters.

He was a farrier and blacksmith in the Central Illinois area.

Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday at the Grace Baptist Church, 320 North Mechanic St. in Macomb with Pastor Jason Hamm officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
