Clarence SmithClarence Albert Smith, 72, of Lewistown, formerly of Havana, died at 9:40 a.m. July 20, 2019, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Berlin, a son of James and Hattie Kinder Smith. He married Annabelle Morris on Sept. 17, 1967, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara (and James) Otto of Havana and Peggy (and Ron) Wardell of Lewistown; four brothers, Raymond Smith of San Jose, Herbert (and Theresa) Smith of Virden, Kenneth Smith of Jacksonville and William Smith of Virginia; two sisters, Mary Turner of Waverly and Martha Ogle of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters at infancy; three brothers, Jim, Marvin and Floyd Smith; and one sister at infancy.

In his younger years, Clarence worked at Crescent Forge and Shovel in Havana for 36 years retiring in 2002. He attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Canton.

A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Fred Albanito officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown.
