He was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Canton, a son of Harley and Nelda Manion Schmidt.
Surviving are two daughters, Heather (and Brad) Malott of Canton and Mandy (and Danielle Hughes) Schmidt of Lewistown; one son, J.D. Larrabee of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Ron (and Robin) Schmidt of Canton and Jim (and Glenda) Schmidt of Dahinda; two sisters, Brenda (and Craig) Ford of Seaville and Donna (and Rick) Hood of Cuba; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Adam Schmidt.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, 20 North Ave. I, Canton, with Reverend Greg Ogle officiating.
Memorials may be made to the future education of Michael’s grandchildren.
