Robert Seals

Robert Gene Seals, 80, died June 22, 2017.

He was born Nov. 13, 1936, in Macomb, a son of Carl and Aletha Seals Mayall. He married Karen on June 15, 1974. She preceded him in death in 1992.

Surviving are two brothers, Bill of Las Vegas and Phil of San Clemente; one daughter, Kelli of Reno; one son, Carl of Nashville; and one grandchild, Keegan of Reno.

He was raised in Ipava and attended VIT Consolidated High School in Table Grove. After completing his masters degree in education from the University of Illinois, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve.

He began his career as a teacher and coach in Illinois, then traveled to Las Vegas in 1962 with his brother Bill to begin a nearly 30-year career in education with the Clark County School District. He was honored for his professionalism, devotion to the district and his unquestionable concern for the welfare of students.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He also spent many years involved with the Elks Lodge 1468.
