Francis Stambaugh

Francis Eugene Stambaugh, 67, of Rushville died at 1:43 p.m. May 23, 2016, at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago.

He was born July 23, 1948, in Peoria, the son of Albert Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Stoneking Stambaugh. He married Linda Little on Dec. 5, 1967, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael (and Nicole) Stambaugh of Rushville; one daughter, Denise Street of Rushville; two sisters, Cindy Kay Davis of Macomb and Lynn Ellen Stambaugh; and four grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a conductor for the Burlington Northern, Santa Fe Railroad many years.

He was a member of U.T.U. Local #196 and a former member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

There will be no visitation or services. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
