Donald Sill Sr.

Donald Sill Sr.Donald R. Sill Sr., 91, of Canton, formerly of Lewistown, died at 3 a.m. Jan. 15, 2016, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Jan. 7, 1925, in rural Bryant, a son of Jasper and Marie Hinderliter Sill. He married Mary Toomer on Aug. 9, 1947, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Vonnie Aldrich of Canton, Donald R. (and Sarah) Sill Jr. of Pekin and Kendall (and Linda) Sill of Smithfield; one sister, Maralee Shriver of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Kenneth Allen Sill; and one brother, Robert Sill.

He was a lifelong farmer. He also drove a school bus for Lewistown School District.

He was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, the Tribal Modern Square Dance Club and the Road Runners Camping Club. He was a former member of the Canton Moose Lodge, the Lewistown Township Board, and had been a director at Spoon River Electric.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Father Rob Goebel officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
