Lawrence “Larry” E. Spires, 65, of Havana died at 2:05 a.m. Oct. 2, 2015, at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Oct. 21, 1949, in Fulton County, a son of Oscar and Minnie Spires. He married Vickie Danner. She preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2013.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Barney Spires.
Surviving are four children, Gabrielle Spires of Astoria, Brandon Spires, Odette Evans and DeRoma Sue Spires; and one sister, Sandy.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a forklift driver, retiring in 2013.
Funeral services were held Monday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. Emily Williams officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
