Jacqueline SargentJacqueline Louise Sargent, 88, of rural Rushville died at 9:20 p.m. June 5, 2015, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born July 1, 1926, in Henry, the daughter of Willard H. and Glenna Sivell Heininger. She married John Bernard Sargent on April 13, 1947, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 2003.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharyl Busby; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Marie Sargent.

Surviving are two sons, James Michael (and Amber) Sargent of Rushville and Scott Alan (and Jamie) Sargent of Blue Earth, Minn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She attended Rushville High School and Bradley University.

She worked for the Rushville school system from 1945-67. In 1972, she was employed by the States’ Attorney Arthur R. Strong and in 1980, she was employed by States’ Attorney Alesia A. McMillen until retiring in 1998.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church and PEO Sisterhood.

After retirement, she was a volunteer at her church and for Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Grant Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
