Linda Shawver

Linda ShawverLinda A. Shawver, 67, of Lewistown died at 7:13 a.m. March 14, 2015, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a brief illness.

She was born July 31, 1947, in Canton, the daughter of Robert and Mildred Bump Shawver.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Shawver.

Surviving are numerous cousins including Jeff Braden of Lewistown; close friends, Virgil and Ethel Brewer and family; and lifelong friend, Rhonda Shumaker.

She worked in several Christian Schools as a second-grade teacher in Louisiana, Jacksonville, Fla., and Roxboro, N.C., where she taught last. She retired and moved back home to care for her aging parents. She also faithfully volunteered at Lunch with Friends Lewistown site located at Lewistown Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Havana and also attended First Baptist Church in Lewistown. She worked with the children’s transportation ministry. She was a member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered serving food on weekly bingo nights.

Funeral services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastors Dan French and Eric Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to Food and Fellowship Senior Lunch Program or Grace Baptist Church for Kids Church Camp Fund.
