Richard "Dick" StageRichard (Dick) Lyle Stage, 81, of Peoria died Sept. 5, 2014, at his home in Peoria.

He was born July 15, 1933, in Peoria, a son of Chester Lyle and Marjory Shepherd Stage on July 15, 1933, in Peoria. He married Joanne Franken Pritchard-Stage on Feb. 14, 2014, in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne; three sons, Richard (and Vicki) Stage of Dunfermline, Ronald (and Donna) Stage of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rodney (and Terry) Stage of Hopedale; two daughters, Patricia (and Donald) Decker of Washington and Robbin (and Jodie) Kost of Astoria; two stepsons, Mike (and Christine) Wilson of Troy, Mich., and Mark (and Julie) Wilson of Bartonville; four stepdaughters, Mary (and Pete) Brown, Marcia Wilson and Peggy Gray, all of Peoria and Monica Wilson of Pekin; one sister, Bernadine (and Floyd) Nolan of Peoria; 25 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Rhodes; and two brothers, Chester Stage and Thomas Stage.

He graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1951-54 as a Private First Class, defending his country in the Korean War.

He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria as a welding inspector retiring in October 1994.

He was a member of Alta Lodge 748 AF and AM of Peoria where he served as Worshipful Master in 1986, became a member of Scottish Rite Cathedral Valley of Peoria 1979, where he served as Most Wise Master of Chapter of the Rose Croix in 1995 and attended Men’s Luncheon Club, was President of Mohammed Temple Shrine in 1979 where he participated in their clubs and units: Legion of Honor, Greater Peoria Shrine Club, Traffic and Transportation Club, Hillbilly Clan #44, and Antique Car Club, where he held the record for the most consistent antique car driver in the Santa Claus Parade, German American Society, Harmonie-Damenchor Choir of the German American Society, Peoria Casting Club, Chillicothe Sportsman Club and Eagles Military Drill Team.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Ave. in Peoria with Masonic services and a funeral service immediately following. Reverend Ray Harrison will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at a later date.
