Pennie Beth (McCubbin) Sheets, 61, of Springfield died March 5, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Lincoln, a daughter of William H. and Wilma L. Bruce McCubbin. She married Gary W. Sheets on Sept. 20, 1975, in Lincoln. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Caleb W.J. (and Christina) Sheets of Springfield; one sister, Pamela (and Ron) Jarrett of Parachute, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
She was a 1970 graduate of (WayMac) Olympia High School. She graduated with honors from (Lincoln Christian College) University of Lincoln in 1975.
She was a minister's wife at Westville, Potomac, Paris and Astoria, and will be remembered as an organizer, Christian educator and secretary.
Services were held Saturday at West Side Christian Church with Gary Sheets, Derrick Ritchie and David Jarrett officiating. Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to McCubbin/Sheets Memorial Scholarship supporting Hargrove School at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln.
