Gerald SprinkleGerald Wayne Sprinkle, 73, of Industry died at 8:22 p.m. Dec. 31, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 28, 1939, in Littleton Township, Schuyler County, a son of Lee Roscoe and Ruth Elizabeth Boyles Sprinkle. He married Janet Aten on June 2, 1963, in Littleton. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Tim Sprinkle of Eau Claire, Wis., Todd (and Rachel) Sprinkle of Blandinsville and Troy (and Susanne) Sprinkle of Wellsville, Kan.; four sisters, Delores (and John) Grosnic, Molly (and Harry) Darst and Mary Sprinkle, all of Macomb and Kathryn Oster of Industry; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelvin Sprinkle and Verne Sprinkle; one sister, Betty Lofftus; and four siblings who passed away in infancy.

He worked for Prairie State Insulation for 13 years and for McDonough County Highway Department for six years.

He was an independent general contractor from 1974 until retiring in 2000. After retiring, he was a bus driver and janitor for Southeastern School District for five years. His last employment was as a bus driver for Rushville/Industry School District, that he was doing at the present time. He also helped Mike Woodside farm for the last 12 years.

He was a member of Littleton Baptist Church and was active with Industry Pin Hook Celebration for years.

Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial was in Industry Cemetery.
