Yvonne Salay-Tyson

Yvonne Salay-TysonYvonne Louise Salay-Tyson, 23, of Springfield died at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 3, 2012, two miles east of Philadelphia, Ill., on Illinois Route #125.

She was born March 8, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev., a daughter of Michael Andrew Salay and Terri Lynn Moorehead. She married Nicholas J. Tyson on April 7, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents, Jim and Terri Woodliff of Springfield and Michael and Shelly Salay of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandparents; Jean and Bob Salay of Las Vegas, Nev., Wanda Moorehead of Stilwell, Okla., and Charles and Doris Woodliff of Boulder City, Nev.; one brother, Eric Woodliff; two sisters, Sydney and Elise Woodliff; and two stepsisters, Cassie Saenz and Jenna Fisher.

She was preceded in death by one grandfather, Robert Moorehead.

She was a senior at University of Illinois in Springfield.

She was a member of Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Springfield and Greenpeace.

She worked as a bartender and filmographer and was preparing for a career in the Peace Corps.

A celebration of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 745 Woodside Road, Springfield, IL 62711 with Rev. Martin Woulfe officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the services at the church.
