Alberta "Peggy" SewardAlberta "Peggy" Seward, 93, of Lewistown died at 5:45 p.m. July 7, 2012, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Buckeye, Fulton County, a daughter of Lee and Mae Baughman Schoonover. She married Richard K. Seward on Aug. 21, 1937, in Lewistown. He died Jan. 12, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Melani Churchill; one brother, Clark Schoonover; two sisters, Helen Lockwood and Vera Tompkins; one stepbrother, Harold Tompkins; one stepsister, Valeria Sheets; two grandsons; and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are two sons, Dick (and Jeanne) Seward of Lewistown and Jodi (and Stephanie) Seward of Minneapolis, Minn.; one daughter, Vicki (and Charles) Mason of Cuba; one brother, Hobart (and Dorothy) Tompkins of Phoenix, Ariz.; one stepsister, Maxine Hartstirm of Fairview; 12 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She cleaned houses, worked at Weirauch Florist for many years then retired from Graham Hospital after 19 years as a respiratory therapist.

She was a member of Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown where she was a former deaconess. She attended Buckeye Church as a child.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown with Reverend Frieda Foland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown.
