She was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Canton, the daughter of Elgin and Doris Beck Helle. She married Bob Scharping on April 24, 1966, in Smithfield. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Doris Helle of Cuba; one son, Kevin (and Jacki) Scharping of Cuba; two brothers, James (and Sandy) Helle of E. Peoria and Richard Helle of Canton; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She was a homemaker.
Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Don Southerd officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
