Wayne Russell Smith, 77, of Rushville, formerly of Aurora, died at 10:25 p.m. Jan. 17, 2011, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
He was born April 27, 1933, in Pekin, the son of Ray and Julia Mick Smith.
Surviving are one sister, Judy (and Tom) Munson of Rushville; one nephew, Don (and Janet) Munson of Canton; one niece, Laurie (and Donny) Garrett of Manito; one great-nephew, Shane (and Laura) Garrett; and one great-niece, Sidney Kay Munson.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Kay Smith.
He worked at a paint factory and at a Christmas tree farm, both in Aurora.
He was a member of AID.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Chaplain Marcia Forman officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sand Prairie Cemetery near Green Valley. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Friday until service time.
Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or the Activity Fund at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home.
