Paula StahlPaula Beth Stahl, 56, of Lewistown, formerly of Astoria, died at 5:26 p.m. Aug. 19, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born April 21, 1954, in Canton, a daughter of Richard and JoAnn DeMott Sherwood. She married Michael Stahl on Feb. 10, 1979, in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother; one son, Matthew Richard (and Monica) Stahl of Lewistown; one daughter, Ashley Elizabeth (and Jason) Barclay of Lewistown; one stepson, Dr. Michael Lee (and Dr. Nicole) Stahl of Monument, Colo.; one sister, Kathy (and David) Rhodes of Troy, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

She graduated from VIT High School in 1972 and also attended LCHS.

She was a volunteer at Astoria Library and grade school. She was a member of the Band Boosters, and was active as Brownie and Daisy leader for several years.

She helped start Spoon River Blacktop and United Asphalt Supply, Inc. that she co-owned with her husband and son, Matthew. She had formerly worked at Weirauch Greenhouse, Table Grove State Bank and Farmer’s State Bank of Lewistown.

Services were held Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. Richard Stahl officiating. Burial was in Waterford Cemetery near Lewistown.
