He was born June 16, 1928, in Wichita, Kan., a son of William and Claudia Sticken. He married Shirley Sheely on Feb. 11, 1984, in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1994.
He also was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and five brothers and sisters.
Surviving are five stepchildren, Cynthia Godsil of Ohio, James Leighton of Quincy, Paul (and Kim) Deck of Streator, John Deck of Springfield and Greg Deck (and companion Candy Beatty) of Galesburg; and six grandchildren.
He retired from United Steel Company in Morris.
He attended First Baptist Church in Rushville.
Services were held Tuesday at Rushville City Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
