Paul Schobernd

Paul L. Schobernd, 58, of Normal died at 2:55 a.m. Aug. 23, 2009, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Carrollton, the son of Paul and Cathryne Branham Schobernd. He married Elizabeth Hanks on Aug. 19, 1972, in Hardin. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Dorchester; three sons, Zachary (and Kelly) of Bloomington, Zebulon (and Christina) of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Zekiel (and Kadee Stroleney) of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Deborah Boozer of Alton and Karen (and Keith) Harris of Dorchester; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Calhoun High School, Eastern Illinois University and Illinois State University.

He was a teacher and school principal for many years and last worked as a placement officer at ISU.

A celebration of his life was held at Clear Creek Friends Meetinghouse in McNabb, where he was a member. Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington was in charge of arrangements.
