She was born June 16, 1936, in Murray, Ky., the daughter of John Leemon and Sarah Ola Lassiter Nix. She married Vernon Richard Sprehe on Nov. 26, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He died March 30, 1991.
Surviving are one daughter, Joni Traylor of Acworth, Ga.; one son, Tony Sprehe of Fortville, Ind.; one brother, Dan (and Nancy) Nix of Fulton, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
She graduated from Murray State University with a bachelors degree in education and taught school for 31 years retiring from Schuyler Middle School on May 25, 2001.
She was a member of Browning Church of Christ and PEO Chapter AL.
Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Ruppel officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
