Ethel Mae Stephens, 81, of Astoria died at 4:45 a.m. Dec. 23, 2006, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.
She was born July 5, 1925, in Astoria, a daughter of Dean and Estella Elgin Waggoner. She married J. William Stephens on Nov. 26, 1946, in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, William (and Cindy) Stephens of Industry; one daughter, Marcia (and Jon) Breedon of Troy; one sister, Lois Walker of Peoria; one brother, Jack (and Pat) Waggoner of Macomb; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a registered nurse for many years.
She was a member of Graham Hospital Alumni Association, Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of Magna Charta Dames Illinois Division and a member of the former United Brethren Church in Astoria.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
