Elizabeth Shoemaker

Elizabeth "Liz" Shoemaker, 77, of Havana Healthcare Center, formerly of Lewistown, died Aug. 15, 2006, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Munich, Germany, a daughter of Joseph and Margareta Kronester Birzer.

Surviving are one son, David Neal of Auburn, Wash.; three daughters, Verna Orme of Apple Valley, Calif., Carla Lasswell of Smithfield and Lisa Sorenson of Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She had been employed as a sheet metal worker at Boeing Aircraft and Todd Shipyards in Seattle, Wash. She later worked as a cook and waitress at various restaurants.

She attended First Baptist Church in Lewistown.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services were held Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Rev. Danie DeBeer officiating. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Lewistown Rescue Squad.
