Gregory Strode

Gregory Everett Strode, 38, of Industry died at 4:19 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center emergency room as a result of a one-car accident in rural Peoria County.

He was born Aug. 12, 1967, in Peoria, a son of Donald and Mary Ellen Brattain Strode.

Surviving are his parents of Dunlap; one son, Ethan Donald Strode of Macomb; and one brother, Douglas Marvin (and Kari Mejia) of Newport Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Cora Brattain and Marvin and Delma Strode.

He graduated from Dunlap High School in 1985 and received an associates degree in agri-business from Illinois Central College in 1987 and a bachelor of science degree in agri-business from Illinois State University in 1989.

He was employed by ADM in its Tabor Grain Division from 1989 to 1992 as an assistant manager at grain elevators in Sullivan and Oakland. From 1992 to 2001, he was manager of the Tabor Grain elevator in Macomb until it was sold. He stayed on as general manager of that elevator and several other facilities for the new owners until 2005.

Services were held Saturday at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel with Franciscan Fathers officiating. Entombment followed the services. Wright & Salmon Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Gregory Strode Memorial Fund in care of South Side Bank.
