Jacob Scott

Jacob Thomas Scott, 32, of Jacksonville, formerly of Beardstown and Rushville, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1972, in Jacksonville, a son of Martha Bruce and Alvin Gaines.

Surviving are his mother and dad, Marti and Matt Cook of Browning; his father and stepmother, Alvin and Brenda Gaines of Arenzville; six brothers, Joshua Tribble of Rushville, Jason Cook of Browning, and Matthew Gaines, Andy Gaines, Jeremy Gaines and Brian Gaines; one sister Genie Beatty of Browning; his grandparents, Fred and Dee Birdsell of Chandlerville, and Earl and Betty Bruce of Aurora; and his caregivers, Gordon Elmore and Fred Perry.

He was a body piercer and tattoo artist known as Jacob Lord of the Rings.

He participated in the DARE program and ABATE.

Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Beardstown. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
