Dale H. Sexton, 81, of Havana died at 1:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at his residence.

He was born May 12, 1922, in Vermont, a son of Herbert and Lena Perkins Sexton. He married Charlotte Cox on Nov. 10, 1947, in Fulton County. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Steve (and Linda) of Havana, David (and Carolyn) of Cisne and Mark (and Debbie) of Canton; five daughters, Judy (and Carl) Fink of Birmingham, Ala., Kathy (and Gary) Melton of Seaton, Lynn Bertelsen of Havana, and Lori Jones (and Don Walsh) and Carol (and Rod) Jump, both of Havana; one brother, Max (and Marge) of Peoria; one sister, Betty Shinn of Peoria; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

He was a repairman for Maytag in Canton and Havana for over 30 years, retiring in 1984.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408 and the Canton American Legion, where he was commander in 1968 and 1969.

Services were held Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
