BERYL LOUISE (BOLLINGER) STEWART

Beryl Stewart

Beryl Louise Stewart, 89, formerly of Trivoli and East Peoria, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Washington Christian Village in Washington, where she was a resident.

She was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Astoria, a daughter of Nathanial Samuel and Margaret Maye France Bollinger. She married Wilbur Stewart on Aug. 30, 1932, in Astoria. He died July 5, 1986, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Booker and Phyllis Miles; one son, Bob; two brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.

Surviving are four daughters, Sharon (and Gene) LaHood of Washington, Patricia (and Lucian) Whittenburg of Chesterfield, Mo., Bernadeen (and Harold) Bennett of Rockford and Connie (and Raymond) Bridges of Lebanon, Mo.; 37 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She had owned and operated Rest Haven Cafe, Twin Springs Truck Stop, Colonial Cove, Wilbur's Grill and Clark's Cafe, all in the Peoria area.

Graveside services were held Monday at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria with Rev. James Gorby officiating. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington was in charge of arrangements.
