WILMA MILDRED “ANN” (SANDERS) JACKSON

Wilma Sanders-Jackson

Wilma "Ann" Mildred Sanders-Jackson, 88, of Normal died at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Heritage Manor in Normal.

She was born March 24, 1912, in Girard, the daughter of Melvin and Minnie Mahan Sanders. She married Cleo Jackson. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Ivan Lindell Sanders and one in infancy.

Surviving are one nephew, W. Robert Sanders of St. Louis, Mo.; one niece, Marilyn Biesenthal of Normal; four great-nephews, Doug Sanders of Seattle, Wa., Gary Biesenthal of Phoenix, Ariz., Todd Biesenthal of Kansas City, Kan., and Jeff Biesenthal of Bloomington; and four great-nieces, Abby and Erika Sanders of St. Louis, Mo., Cindy Truby of Green Valley and Gina Biesenthal of Bloomington.

She was a medical clerk at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for 20 years, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Girard.

Graveside services of ashes were held Friday at Union Chapel Cemetery in Girard. Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Girard was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
