Hazel Sparks, 89, formerly of Astoria, died at 11:47 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Sharon Pines Health Care in Peoria.
She was born Dec. 14, 1910, in Fulton County, a daughter of Isaac and Charlice Leonard Hendee. She married Glen Wilson Sparks in 1934 in Fulton County. He died Aug. 29, 1948.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.
Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, with Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
