Hazel “Marie” Sanders, 72, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Alsey, the daughter of John E. and Lela F. Jackson Smith. She married James Mahoney. She later married William W. Sanders on Sept. 27, 1962, in Bowling Green, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Randy Sanders of Astoria, Lloyd Mahoney and Chris Sanders, both of Jacksonville, and Kenneth Mahoney of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford Smith of California and Paul Smith of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Mahoney, one granddaughter and one brother.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services were held Friday at Jacksonville East Cemetery. Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville was in charge of arrangements.
