Marjorie Madelene Simpson, 83, of Vermont, died at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Aug. 2, 1915, in Iowa, a daughter of Arthur Russell and Lola Belle Dyke Moore. She married Robert House who is now deceased. She married Oscar Simpson on April 14, 1940. He died Oct. 27, 1971.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Billy and Allen Moore, and one sister, Irma Remmers.

Surviving are one son, Jay Paul House of St. Clair, Mo.; two grandsons; one brother, Melvin Moore of California; two sisters, Betty Conway of Camden and Louise Blaine of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She lived in Dunfermline, Cuba, Bryant and Vermont during her lifetime.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will take place at Vermont Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, with Tim Worstell officiating. Kost Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Vermont Rescue Squad.
