Fern Snowden, 101, of Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, died there at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998.
She was born Nov. 27, 1896, in New Salem Township, McDonough County, a daughter of Reece and Margaret Scherrer Snowden. One sister and six brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She received her nurse’s training in 1922. She worked in Missouri and later at LaHarpe Hospital. She also was a private duty nurse. She was a member of First Christian Church in Macomb and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Industry.
Cremation has been accorded, and burial will be at Vermont Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home.
