E. Leroy Saurbaugh, 57, of rural Chillicothe, was pronounced dead at 6:10 a.m. Friday, June 19, 1998, as a result of a two-car crash near Mossville.
He was born March 2, 1941, in Macomb, a son of Maurice and Eura Johnson Saurbaugh. He married Sandra Lee Schutt on Nov. 16, 1968, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dan of Chillicothe; two daughters, Rhonda Saurbaugh of East Peoria and Janna Saurbaugh of Chillicothe; and one brother, Wilmer of Table Grove.
A Caterpillar Inc. employee for 32 years, he last worked as a senior test engineer at the Tech Center, last working Thursday. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1964. He was a member and deacon at the Worldwide Church of God in Peoria.
Services were held Tuesday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel.
