Ralph Shaw

Ralph B. Shaw, 80, of Canton died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 1997, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Nov. 7, 1916, in rural Lewistown, a son of Charles and Sarah Bolender Shaw. He married Ferne Smith on Jan. 20, 1937, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, R. William Shaw of Granger, Ind.; two daughters, Karen Sue Clarkson of Bartlett, Tenn. and Cheryl Ann Armstrong of Crown Point, Ind.; two granddaughters, Linda Best and Gina Clarkson, both of Bartlett, Tenn.; one great-grandson, Dustin Best of Bartlett, Tenn.; one brother, Don Shaw of Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills; and one sister, Hilda Shinpaugh of Redding, Calif.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

He farmed for 32 years in Schuyler County and also worked for 32 years at the former Tingley Products Factory in Ipava. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewistown where he served as a deacon and usher for 14 years and also taught Bible study.

Services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Lewistown with Rev. Robert Reeise officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Lewistown.
