DAISY A. (KLINEDINST) STRODE

Daisy Strode

Daisy A. Strode, 89, of Prairie City Nursing Home in Prairie City, formerly of Bushnell, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 1997, at the center.

She was born Aug. 2, 1907, in Ipava, a daughter of Ceres C. and Emmabelle Myers Klinedinst. She married William Elmer Strode on Nov. 18, 1925, in Bushnell. He died Jan. 2, 1992. Two daughters, Linda Woolam and Judith Daine, one brother and six sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. William (Wilma) Yeast of St. Peters, Mo., Mrs. Jeff (Norma) Yeast of Farmington, Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Weaver of Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Daniel (Cynthia) Lambert of Bardolph; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She and her husband operated several businesses in Bushnell, including Strode Cafe, Karmel Corn Shop and Blue Moon Cafe. She was a life member of Entre Nous, Parent Teacher Association, Sunbonnet Swingers and Bushnell Methodist Church.

Services were held this morning at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery.
